REQUIREMENTS AND PROTOCOLS

The safety of our singers remains a top priority as we plan to resume rehearsals for the 2021-2022 season. We are excited to sing together in person again and have developed the following protocols to create an environment where we can safely gather and rehearse.

IMPORTANT: NO SINGER SHOULD ATTEND REHEARSAL IF FEELING SICK OR EXPERIENCING SYMPTOMS, EVEN IF FULLY VACCINATED.

VACCINATIONS: All singers must be fully vaccinated to participate. You are considered fully vaccinated 2 weeks after your second dose in a 2-dose series, such as the Pfizer or Moderna vaccines, or 2 weeks after a single-dose vaccine, such as Johnson & Johnson’s Janssen vaccine. If a participant has a legitimate need to request an exemption, the board’s Managing Director and Legal Counsel will review and respond to any such requests. Instructions for providing vaccine documentation or requesting an exemption will be provided in a separate communication.

MASKS: While indoors, anyone present at rehearsal is required to properly wear a mask that completely covers the nose and mouth, and fits snugly around the sides. They must be worn throughout the duration of each rehearsal except when briefly drinking water. Singers’ masks that are specifically designed to stay in place while providing extra room for singing are recommended. We’ve put together a list of singers’ masks available for purchase here.

LIABILITY WAIVERS: Each singer will need to sign a Waiver and Release of Liability, and a Media Consent and Release form. Both waivers can be accessed for review prior to paying for dues, after which you can acknowledge receipt within your member profile.

WEEKLY HEALTH SCREENING FORM: Each week, singers attending in person will be required to submit a brief Health Screening Form before entering the rehearsal space. The health screening form will be available continuously in the members area of the website. These can be submitted online (preferred) within 24 hours of each rehearsal or at the door before rehearsal.

ADDITIONAL PRECAUTIONS IN PLACE FOR EACH REHEARSAL:

  • Seating will be as distanced as possible – likely 3 to 4 ft apart.
  • We plan to take a 15-minute break midway through rehearsal. Please plan to leave the room. If the weather is good, go outside.
  • Sanitizing wipes will be provided for singers to clean their chair during/after rehearsal. Chairs will initially be cleaned for you during set-up.
  • South Davis Junior High has installed upgraded air filters in all music rehearsal spaces, in accordance with school district guidelines. The air will be running during rehearsals.

FACEBOOK LIVE STREAM OPTION
We’re working to put together a livestream option for those that are feeling ill on a given week and need to stay home, or for those are not yet comfortable returning to in-person rehearsals, but would like to “join” remotely each week. **Please note that in order to be eligible to perform in the concert, you must sign up to attend in-person rehearsals.

CONCERT PROTOCOL:
We intend to perform the Christmas concert without masks. In order to do so, all singers will need to provide proof of a negative rapid COVID test within 24 hours of the performance. Further instructions will be provided closer to the concert date.
